- Welcome to AlterImage Version 1.03,
-
- The Disc Company is proud to introduce this new innovative
- video titling program for the Amiga. It is both extremely easy
- to use and at the same time unique in features and special effects.
-
- If you are using a hard disk make sure to boot your system like you
- normally would and insert the AlterImage disk into any drive.
- Run the HDInstall program to install AlterImage on your hard disk.
- Also, don't forget to add the assign statements to your
- startup-sequence file in the "s" directory of your hard disk or
- boot disk. The assign statements are listed in the manual.
-
- If you do not have a hard disk make sure you boot your system with
- the AlterImage disk and not another Workbench disk.
-
- This version works on the Amiga 1000, 500, 2000, and 2500 computers
- with at least 1 meg of memory. It will also work on the Amiga 3000
- under 1.3 Workbench. If you are using Workbench 2.0 and you encounter
- any problems with AlterImage please call our technical support
- number listed on the enclosed warranty card.
-
- You will notice when you open both the Video Fonts Disk and Video
- Clip Art Disk that you will not see any fonts or clip art on the disk.
- Don't worry, they are there, it is just that there are no icons used
- to show them on the Workbench. To use them you have to be in the
- AlterImage Program and load them from there.
-
- We have put a limitation in version 1.03 which does not allow you to
- use the Disk Acess button when in the FX menu. Earlier versions allowed
- you to access scripts and IFF graphics when in the FX menu but caused
- irregular behavior. We decided to only allow access to the file
- requesters when in the Edit menu.
-
- Using Crawl and Scroll in the Same Script
-
- If you create a script which has Crawl and Scroll, one after the other,
- you may find that you get a flash of color between the two pages when
- you play the script. To fix this problem simply insert a blank page
- between the crawl and scroll pages.
-
- Multi-tasking
-
- Because AlterImage requires a large amount of chip memory it is not
- recommended that you run other programs in the background while using
- AlterImage.
-
- File Requesters
-
- When using the File Requesters when loading or saving scripts, graphics,
- and palettes you may find that the window listing the files of the current
- directory does not always display the complete list of files properly.
- If this occurs simply click the pointer in the edit box located below
- the file window (It has the small picture of a disk next to it.) and then
- press the RETURN key. The files should then be displayed correctly.
-
- AlterImage Genlock
-
- If you are using the AlterImage Genlock and you encounter a large amount
- of horizontal shift in the genlock signal you can try adjusting the
- horizontal controls on your television or try adjusting the screen
- position from within Preferences on the AlterImage Program disk.
-
- SuperGen Users
-
- If you are using a SuperGen you will notice when using the Scroll feature
- the video image will black out during a text scroll. This happens because
- the SuperGen is not compatible with the AlterImage genlock control signals.
- Please call our technical support number and we will be happy to supply
- you with a version where the genlock control feature is inactive. The
- Scroll feature will then work properly when using a SuperGen.
-
- Technical Support
-
- If you run into any difficulties you can call our technical support
- phone numbers listed on the warranty card.
-
- We hope you enjoy many hours using AlterImage!
